The First Authors Meeting for the IPBES Regional Assessment on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services for the Asia-Pacific was hold in United Nations University of Tokyo, Japan, from 17 to 21 August, 2015. More than 150 participants attended the meeting including Dr. Anne Larigauderie,Executive Secretary of IPBES, some of the Bureau and MEP Members, Coordinating Lead Authors and Lead Authors. The IPBES Regional Assessment will assess the status, trends and drivers on biodiversity and ecosystem services for the Asia-Pacific. It will explore supporting tools for decision makers at the regional and sub-regional levels. The purpose of this meeting was to determine the detailed scope of each chapter and to identify responsibilities and timeline of activities towards the production of the Regional Assessment Report. Five researcher of NIES, Dr. Haigen XU, Dr. Changyong WANG, Dr. Jun WU, Dr. Jianyong WU and Dr. Rong DAI were selected as eligible members of the expert group under IPBES rules. Dr. Changyong WANG was nominated as a Coordinating Lead Author of chapter four.
