The Meeting of the Informal Advisory Committee on Capacity-building for the Implementation of the Nagoya Protocol Held in Montreal, Canada

The meeting of the Informal Advisory Committee on Capacity-building for the Implementation of the Nagoya Protocol was held from 29-31 October 2019, in Montreal, Canada. 25 representatives from parties, indigenous people and communities, as well as relevant international organizations, attended the meeting. Dr. Fuwei Zhao of Nature Reserve and Biodiversity Research Center took part in the meeting, being nominated by the National Focal Point for the Nagoya Protocol and confirmed by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity.

The Fifteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to CBD will be held at Kunming in 2020, and it will develop a global biodiversity framework for future ten years. The Informal Advisory Committee reviewed draft reports of the Secretariat relevant to implementation of the Nagoya Protocol, and made its recommendations for development process of post-2020 global biodiversity framework as references.
